The best morogo ever

Morogo or umfino is a spinach like vegetable that is delicious and soft when cooked. It ranges from pumpkin leaves (mirhoho wa xiphaswa) to other green leaves that are rich in vitamin A and C.



In a cooking pot fry the onion(s) and throw in the star anise. Add the morogo. Add the water and season well. Allow to simmer until the leaves are soft. Add the tomatoes & basil and let simmer for a while. Remove the star anise and rest.

Preparation: 5 minutes

Cooking time: max 30 minutes
